How DAVsky works

DAVsky creates an account on the device for your server. From then on its calendars, contacts and tasks show up in the apps you already use – DAVsky itself is neither a calendar nor an address book, it keeps both in step. The exchange runs directly between your device and the server you chose.

You stay in control of the sync: sync over Wi-Fi only to save mobile data, deliberately trust self-signed servers – with the fingerprint shown to you – or sync every account with a single tap, via button, quick settings tile or home screen widget.

What exactly does DAVsky do?
DAVsky connects your Android device to your own CalDAV/CardDAV server and keeps calendars, contacts and tasks in step. It is not a calendar or contacts app itself: the data shows up in the apps you already use.
Do I need a server of my own?
Yes, DAVsky syncs with a CalDAV/CardDAV server – Nextcloud or ownCloud, for instance, or an account with a provider such as mailbox.org, Posteo, Fastmail or iCloud. Without such a server only the ICS/Webcal subscriptions remain, and those need no login.
Which providers are supported?
For Nextcloud/ownCloud, mailbox.org, Posteo, Fastmail, SOGo, Baïkal, Radicale and iCloud the setup guides you step by step. For everything else the server address is enough – DAVsky works out the paths itself.
Can I just subscribe to calendars, without an account?
Yes. ICS and Webcal feeds can be subscribed to by address or from a local file – public holidays or team schedules, for example. Such subscriptions are read-only and need no server login.
Where is my data stored?
On your device and on the server you chose yourself. The content is exchanged solely between those two – not via us and not with third parties. We have no access to it.
Does syncing use a lot of mobile data?
That is up to you: the sync interval can be set separately for calendars, contacts and tasks – from "manual only" through a value of your own to daily. On request DAVsky syncs over Wi-Fi exclusively.
Does it work with a self-signed certificate?
Yes. You can deliberately trust a self-signed server; the fingerprint is shown to you so that you can check it.
What does DAVsky cost?
DAVsky is free, shows no ads and contains no trackers. It collects no usage data either.
